As someone who grew up in Venezuela, a country where beauty standards are incredibly high, I was immersed in a culture that placed great emphasis on appearance, fast forward a number of years and I can still see that beauty standards can be overwhelming specially with all the exposure on social media and the encouragement to use beauty filters. However, I can point to the exact time when my perspective on beauty shifted and that was when I moved to Barcelona, where the beauty standards - that I saw - were more relaxed, It was a refreshing change that allowed me to question the conventional notions of beauty. The Changing Paradigm of Beauty: Embracing Natural Beauty
When I relocated to Ireland, I found a happy mix of beauty standards that embraced both natural and unique expressions of beauty. But the global pandemic further transformed this paradigm of beauty. As we spent more time at home, the focus shifted from heavy makeup and elaborate outfits to self-care and inner well-being.
In this new era, the significance of using natural beauty products became even more apparent, people from all ages, genders and backgrounds now pay more attention to ingredients, and little by little people embrace that these products not only offer a healthier alternative by reducing exposure to harmful chemicals, but they also align with ethical and eco-friendly practices.
